Google's 200 Position Factors: The Entire List
You Probably know that Google uses about 200 rank things in their algorithm...
But What the hell are they?
Nicely Today you're in for a treat because I have put together a whole list.
Some are proven.
Some Are contentious.
Others are SEO nerd speculation.
Affiliate Links:
Affiliate Links themselves probably won't hurt your rankings. But in case you have too many, Google's algorithm may pay closer attention to other quality signals to be certain you're not a "thin affiliate website".
Exact Match DomainName:
EMDs May still give you an advantage...if it's an excellent site. But when the EMD occurs to be a low-quality site, it is vulnerable to this EMD upgrade:
Keyword in Description Tag:
Another relevancy signal. Not especially important today, but still makes a huge difference.
Page Loading Speed via HTML:
The two Google and Bing use page loading speed as a ranking element. Search engine spiders may gauge your site speed fairly accurately based on a page's code and filesize.
Latent Semantic Indexing Keywords in Content (LSI):
LSI Key words help search engines extract meaning from words with more than 1 meaning (Apple the computer business vs. the fruit). The presence/absence of LSI probably also functions as a content quality signal.
References And Resources:
Citing References and sources, like study papers do, may be a indication of quality. The Google Quality Guidelines states that reviewers must keep an eye out for sources when looking at certain pages: "This is a subject where experience and/or authoritative sources are significant...". However, Google has denied that they use external hyperlinks as a ranking sign.
